Toronto-based power trio Sixteen Scandals are fighting off the winter blahs with new single “H.I.L.O.” It’s an up-tempo alt/punk song about watching a close friend struggle with opiate addiction. It’s loud, melodic, and emotional without being heavy-handed. Built for shouting along while still hitting hard lyrically. Think raw guitars, driving drums, and a chorus that sticks. It’s honest, fast, and comes from lived experience.
Recognized for their dynamic song-writing, ridiculous stage antics and clever-yet-earnest songwriting, Sixteen Scandals have carved out a legacy as one of Toronto’s most entertaining and enduring live acts.
“H.I.LO” was recorded with Matt Gauthier (Handheld, Church Fight) at This Place Needs A Name studio and will be included on the Dorkmantrois: Whackronyms EP available later this year via Cartridge Heart.
“H.I.L.O” is available to stream starting February 20.
